best genuine thai food.
This is my favorite Thai restaurant in the route 78/24/287 triangle. Coming from Asia, I have been disappointed with some other Thai restaurants purported to be better than this one. They use authentic ingredients and their vegetables are always fresh and never overcooked. Their food offers the familiar flavors of the Asian tropics - kaffir lime, coriander, ginger, and lemon grass - which I really appreciate when the craving hits me. I especially enjoy their green curries as well as their pad thai, tom yum soup, and all their desserts.
If you're looking to impress your date, maybe this down-to-earth place (where if it's your birthday, they will blare a very cheesy but very strangely Singaporean version of Happy Birthday on the speakers and flicker the lights) may not appeal to you, but for a great comfortable Thai meal, this is a great place to go. Actually, I enjoy the quiet and casual atmosphere, and despite the lack of windows, i never feel closed in.
Under the toughest criteria, of course this is not the most excellent Thai food in the world, nor does it closely match the excellent Patara in Thailand, Singapore or London, but certainly the place I'd go for Thai food in NJ.
excellent......... I am a spicy, savory healthy food and have admittedly become absolutely addicted to their chicken basil dish via take-out after eating in randomly. The atmosphere and restaurant service are super. But, oh my, that dish is divine. I have to oreder thier chicken basil every weekkkkkkkkkkkkkk.
Food and service are okay, but overpriced, and a rather poor value for money.
Summit Thai's food is acceptable, but nothing memorable. It isn't the sort of place that I would take anyone I wanted to impress. That said, the service is okay, but my outstanding memory is the check. Summit Thai Cuisine is overpriced. There are better restaurants in Summit and better Thai restaurants within a short drive from Summit.
I recommend avoiding this one.
AverageThai, good service, below average value. BYOB. Simple, relatively clean decor. Same bizarre synthesized Asian Muzak that's playing down the street at Fujiyama. Good service. Average value, with most entrees overpriced relative to same food at an average Thai restaurant. Food was mixed - most was very good, but the chicken in the Pad Thai I had wasn't fresh (metallic taste). Overall, slightly above average due to average food, good service, below average value.
