ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE !!!!!!. went here because we hadn't been here in 2 years.it went from ok to a DISASTER! food was TERRIBLE.no matter what you ordered.the service was just as bad if not worse...........mcdonald's down the road would have been better....NEVER EVER AGAIN.....

wouldn't recommend this place to someone i DIDN'T like..............................................

for the record,i tried to post this without a star but the site wouldn't let me so be forewarned....they aren't worth the 1 star !!!!

Great Italian Restaurant. We have been going to Bella Napoli for years for family occasions, quiet dinners or sports events at the bar. The food is delicious and the service attentive. The menu and daily specials provide many choices to pick from.

Constant attention by the owner Salvatore Siconolfi provides the atmosphere of home.

Never had a bad meal there and always vow to return.

Won't be back again. My wife picked this restaurant as it was close to Montclair State Univeristy where we went to watch a performance. It was also our anniversary dinner. Even though we were early, the captain gave us a booth next to the waiters staging area. We ordered Calimari which came out good, if a bit bland. As for entrees, we were not offered the choice of potate croquette which was listed on the menu, Our order of Chicken Francese came out ok, but without much flavor. My son's had a sirloin steak which came out as ordered but it was very bland, without much steak sauce and was tough. As for the veal, I would say it was as good as the ones I had in my college cafetaria. The salad was drowning in the dressing. My son and I went to use the men's room. It must be in the midst of being clean, as there were toilet paper strewn about in the stalls and the floor was all wet .We concluded this place is overpriced for the standard it delivers and the quality of the food. If not for the nice decor and ambience, I would have given it a single star

Horrible Experience. My wife and I dined at Bella Napoli recently after not having been there for several years. We were truly disappointed by the experience.

I had the Zuppa di Pesce and she had the steak Pizzaiola with a side order of linguine marinara. Let's start with my entree. The shrimp were spolied and when I finally got the waiter's attention, the owner came over and argued over how fresh their seafood is and how no one usually complains.

My wife's steak was tough and the "red sauce" that they are supposedly famous for tasted like it came from a salt factory.

Needless to say, we will not be back anytime soon.

Best Arugula SALAD and RED sauce in NJ. We moved away and everytime I come back I always have to go to Bella Napoli. In fact we are going there again on Friday night June 29th. It's a close friends birthday so we are going there to dinner. I can't wait great food and great company it can't be beat!!!!

Would never go again!. FOOD CAME TO US COLD AND WE WAITED FOREVER FOR IT - SERVICE WAS TERRIBLE! CONSIDERING THERE WERE SO MANY WAITERS, I EXPECTED BETTER SERVICE! UNLESS THINGS CHANGE, I WOULD NOT GO THERE AGAIN

The Best Red Sauce in NJ!. I highly recommend the shrimp marinara, which feature chunks of tomato in the red sauce and delicious shrimp. Plenty of sauce left for wiping down with their fresh hot bread. A must for Italian food lovers!

best italian in NJ. i'm not an italian but i enjoy italian food very much. from my experience this place is the best in NJ. especially, the red clams. i never had anything like that, ever! the only thing that's negative is u have to wait forever for ur food.

btw, they opened up another location(much bigger one) on broad st. in clifton, just 5 min from the original location.
