Tips for Raymond's

Best Breakfast in NJ. The name "Raymond's" extends past Montclair as one can tell by the lines that stretch down the street on a daily basis. Breakfast being my favorite meal of the day I consider myself an expert on the perfect Eggs Benedict and believe me, Raymond's has it.

Five Star Breakfast. I have been to Raymond's 3 times this month because I cannot get enough of their breakfast. This is by far the best breakfast spot in the area. I think they deep fry the French Toast in order to make it totally to die for. Their omelets are incredible and I don't know how they get their eggs to almost float above the contents inside- which are all fresh and plentiful. The eggs are very light and fluffy. The side of bacon is enough to share (I'm a bacon hoarder) so it works for me. The only drawback is that this place is loud- the acoustics are really bad.. but if your there to eat who cares. It's set up like and old time cafe- very cute, but cramped, and small. I still don't care- it's worth it. Now I have to test their lunch skills.

TERRIBLE and APPALLING management. I spoke to the owner on the phone (to request a reservation) and he was incredibly rude and curt with me. Even though his wait staff and this website say that Raymond's takes reservation, he refused to reserve a table for me and my party of 10 tonight claiming that it would be "a bad business choice on his end."

Also, he was insensitive about food allergies - when the owner was asked about alternative menu options that do not include ingredients in bread, the owner said, "I don't understand the problem - if this kid can't eat bread, then he doesn't eat the bread." An owner should never be insensitive to any food allergies.

Please do NOT go to this restaurant. It does not even deserve 1 star. Funny how he thought it would be a "bad business choice on his end" to give me a reservation, and turns out he will never get MY (and hopefully YOUR) business again.

A Timeless Standard. Make this spot your regular haunt...for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner or dessert. The only thing that beats the interesting and fresh food is the atmosphere and the personal touch when Raymond himself greets you. Once you try Raymond's, you'll understand why.
