I recently went back with another couple and noticed something moving on the couch behind my friend, we'll it turned out to be a cockeroach. Thankfully we already finished our dinner/dessert. We than saw another cockeroach on the couch, we had enough and notified the waiter but he just laughed at us. We weren't looking for a refund but I will NEVER eat at their restaurant again, it kind of makes you wonder why the lights are dimmed.
Date Spot in Newark. My husband and I went to Adega the other Saturday for late dinner. We did not know anything about the restaurant, though we frequent at other establishments in the neighbourhood. The long narrow restaurant was decorated with bricks and fake grapes, and a pianist was playing music - romantic. Menu was on the expensive side for Newark, but service was excellent. There were many wait staff, and they kept switching around when one of them were called upon or helping customers. I felt like having dinner in a house with a bunch of butlers. Food was as good as other Spanish/Portugese fairs nearby, including dessert. I will go back for the ambience, because others are more like family friendly. This place is recommended for a date - gentlemen, trust me on this.
bar is great. Adega can get packed out the a$$, but it is a jumping spot from thurs-sat. Live DJ, playing great sets, drinks are good, dancefloor itself are lighted colorful tiles, fishtanks. Nice decor. Get there before 11:30 to get seating, but get there after 12:45 to have a blast! The shotgirls are cute. The guys who frequent the bar are not. They're short and too young for my taste. I like a mature, richer gentleman in his early 30's.
