Best Thai in the Newark Metro Area. I recently discovered Topaz shortly before Christmas, and it's quickly become one of my favorite places to dine. This family owned and operated restaurant has an extraordinarily friendly staff, and provides a comfortable, cozy, "at home" feel; complete with throw pillows and television set for patrons to enjoy while they wait for owner Wanida (aka "Momma") and crew to expertly prepare their food in the kitchen. The food is both tasty, and fresh, and I whole heartedly recommend the crispy fried duck with spicy basil sauce, or the panang curry. Two of the best dishes on the menu in my opinion.

I've sampled Thai restaurants all over New Jersey, in New York, Santa Cruz, San Francisco, and Las Vegas, among over locales. Topaz is hands down and by far, the best Thai food that I've sampled in the Newark Metropolitan area, and among the best I've ever had.
