A new base lodge, condos galore and an entirely overhauled lift system, including an eight-person gondola, are just some of the attractions here, on a mountain not far from New York City.

this place is way too crowded/expensive/icy. Sure this place is close to NYC and has lots of townhomes, but here's what you can expect:

1) LINES - the lines here are unbelievable, everything from the tickets to the lifts to the food has a long line, you'll spend half the day waiting

2) CROWDS - most of the challenge on the mountain is avoiding the other people. the slopes get so crowded, you're almost guaranteed to crash into someone else. and dont expect this place to clear out until late at night

3) ICE - the snow quality here is sub-par. there are just too many people skiing the slopes

4) COST - this place is expensive! expect to drop around $70 in a day with rentals

All in all, I don't think mountain creek is a good choice. Unless you're desperate to ski, I would suggest taking the longer trip up north into NY state.

Mountain Creek. Highly recomended for the hole family. Is a very peaceful place, my son loves the ski camp, no matter your ski level they have a slope for you. We stayed at BlackCreekSantuary, but if your are plannig to ski and stay here do it in advance apparently they don't have a lot of townhomes and they rent fast.
