LIARS AND THIEVES. My friend bought her bridal gown there (spent $2,000) and had 6 bridesmaids. I was a bridesmaid but had to back out due to financial hardship. One week after ordering my bridesmaid dress (months before the wedding, mind you) I called to cancel my order. They said that was fine, but I would lose my deposit. No problem - I understand that.

One week before the actual wedding, apparently they forgot to cancel that dress and ordered it anyway. When I refused to pick it up because it was their mistake, they called me a liar and then called the bride and told her that they were going to hold her responsible for the balance of the bridesmaid dress that was supposed to be cancelled and they ordered by mistake, otherwise they would not give her her bridal gown a few days before her wedding.

They are rude, obnoxious old ladies who are out of touch with reality, I contacted the Better Business Bureau about this place. They are awful! I wouldn't recommend anyone go there.

BEST BRIDAL SALON in NJ... and i've been to MANY.. I was stunned to read the poor review one person had on Helen Bohn. They have been nothing but patient and helpful with me. I must have gone 6 or 7 times and tried on almost every wedding dress they carry. Same with the bridesmaid dresses. I will have to re-post once the dresses come in, but they take responsibility for the dresses they order, as the reviewer said, they got her the correct dress with time for fittings. I am surprised to read that the alterations were not complete, but at the same time if you live an hour away, it is smart ANYWHERE you go to call ahead and confirm your appointment/make sure your product is ready.

The receipt also contracts that final payment must be in cash or certified check. You just need to read what you sign and you will be prepared.

My family has ordered dresses from here for over 10 years (wedding dresses, bridesmaids, MOB, prom). We have experienced nothing but excellent service and a personal touch.

Worst Bridal Salon I have ever encountered. My experiences with the Helen Bohn Bridal Salon has been less then desirable. I have had nothing but problems since day one. The salon representatives not only ordered the wrong color bridesmaid gowns but they ordered the wrong sizes. Several of the dresses had to be sent back and reordered. After receiving the correct dress... (3 weeks before the wedding) I went to the salon for my first fitting.

At my first fitting the dress was painfully to tight across the bust line. The representative insured me she would let out some material so I would be comfortable. She also suggested a bone in the top of my dress so you couldn't see down it.

When I went to pick up my dress... (1 week before the wedding) no alterations had been done. The dress was only pressed. The dress was too long, the top had not been let out and there was no bone in the dress. I became upset with the owner not sure why my dress was not complete. She put the bone in the dress while I waited. Since I live over a hour away from the salon I agreed to just take the dress and deal with the issues.

When I went to pay I was informed I was not able to pay with a check. Confused, I asked why? I had paid the first installment with a check. They claimed to have been stiffed in the past by other girls and didn't want to face the same problems. I insured them my check was good and would clear at that moment. I even drove to an Atm down the street in an attempt to get cash. The bank was closed. And since I was not from the area I didn't know where else to go but back to the salon.

The owner herself told me she would not stay open 10 more minutes while I drove to another ATM. Sadly I began to cry. I begged her to take my check along with my drivers license, phone number, social security number... whatever she needed to insure she would be paid. She refused. It is now 8 days before the wedding and I still have no dress.
