Tips for Tiffany Wigs

January 03, 2013

My mother came here after undergoing Chemotherapy. The hardest part of her treatment was dealing with losing her hair, so this was obviously an important purchase for her. She had an appointment with Phyllys, who co-owns Tiffany Wigs with her brother. Now I rarely leave reviews, but I believe the way Phyllys treated my mother needs to be displayed to anyone looking to shop here.

Phyllys is an awful and nasty person that has no respect or sympathy for her clients, who are mostly Cancer patients. If my mother was unsure of the way a wig looked on her, Phyllys would make a rude comment such as, "you don't like it because you're pale" or "you chose to wear that ugly outfit that won't compliment the wig, so you don't know what you're talking about" or the very worst comment being "you won't be happy with any of the wigs you purchase here because you're upset at how ugly you look"

It was truly shocking the way she treated my mother, who was so happy to finally receive the insurance money to pay for a wig, only to come home disappointed and upset. When she called later that week, she spoke to Phyllys's brother about how rude Phyllys was and how upset she was with her experience. Phyllys decided to call my mother back and tell her NOT to shop at TIfffany's Wigs anymore and continued to berate my mother with extremely profane names that I will choose not to explicitly mention. In case you were wondering, F words and C words spilled from Phyllys's mouth

I highly suggest anyone interested in shopping here, to please research another wig business, as Phyllys is simply a terrible and inconsiderate person, with zero respect for people. I plan on contacting the American Cancer Society and all the major insurance companies that recommend Tiffany's Wigs to alert them that their recommending a business that berates their customers and has no problem cursing out their clients who are suffering from the side effects of chemotherapy.

i am grateful to tiffany wigs in yorktown heights n.y. for the wonderful care that they took of my wife. she was totally devastated that she ws going to lose her hair. we walked into a lovely place with the nicest and most compassionate people working there. after the process was explained to us we were lead into a private room where my wife was fitted with beautiful wigs. my wife was thrilled in fact we brought two wigs one that my insurance company paid for in full and being my wife looked so beautiful we brought another one.

An Extraordinary Experience. As a result of my cancer treatments, I experienced total hair loss. The purchase of a wig was a neccessity for me. Since buying a wig was a first time experience, I needed to be in the hands of an expert who dealt with quality products. I was given the name of Tiffany Wigs in Yorktown Heights by my doctor and friends who had heard about them and without hesitation or reservation. I was greeted by Phyliss, a compassionate woman who wants to make her clients look and feel their very best. I was beyond satisfied with the wig that I purchased. I would highly recommend Tiffany Wigs when dealing with such a delicate and personal situation.

BAD SERVICE! Horrible Attitude!. Wanted to look at the wigs for my mom. Walked in at 12:30pm on Saturday, the place is empty. They tell me that I need to make an appointment. This is fine not big deal but then the owner continued that their wigs are expensive, you can not try them unless you buy it etc etc. What is she was trying to tell me I cannot afford it so get out of the store!!??? I work for fortune 100 company, have graduate degree and make good money. If I wanted to buy $50 wig I would just order it online. I wanted quality wig for my mom , this is the reason we stopped by specialty store.

Horrible customer service and attitude!!!!! If you value good customer service go somewhere else.

Wonderful. My mother is undergoing chemotherapy and lost most of her hair. we looked and called everywhere for the best and most friendly people. we found Tiffany wigs in Yorktown heights. as we were speaking to Phyliss we set a appointment. they accepted her insurance company. when we arrived phyliss greeted us with a open heart. she took us through the whole process of buying a wig. we selected a wig and she fitted and styled it for my mother exactly the way her hair was. we are so elated to find this great woman and tiffany wigs. they took care of all the insurance forms and the billing for us. we are so thankful and especially my mother who left with the biggest smile.

The absolute worst. If I could have given this establishment less than 1 star I would have. As soon as I walked in with my husband, Phyliss asked who wasgoing through chemo even though I have no hair! She then asked what my insurance was and proceeded to tell me that they were a provider. I told her I already had a wig but was interested in a cap. She wanted to know why I got my wig elsewhere and when I told her the hospital gave me a list she kept asking why she wasn't on the list;. She asked all kinds of info, i.e., what floor I got my chemo on, what floor my doc was on, etc...all this while she was attending another customer. She kept insisting that I try on a wig and when I told her that I didn't want to because my scalp hurt she yelled "that's because your'e losing your hair"! I could go on and on about this troll and the horrible experience I had there but surfice it to say that I wound up crying (and I am pretty tough)! She did not want to take a charge for the caps I purchased saying that she would not take a charge for under $100 and when I told her that that was illegal she relented and took the card. STAY AWAY!!!! Unless you want to experience shame and humiliation! I'm thinking of reporting her to the credit card companies and the Better Business Bureau!

THANK YOU. Ive been going thru some rough times with certain health issues i am not comfortable talking about. I needed a Wig so a friend told me about Tiffany Wigs. Once i walked in there i was greeting nicely by Phyllis who helped me out. Yes my insurance covered it so i have no idea what KAREKIM is talking about. Every one is entitled to their own opinion but her statements about Tiffany Wigs is false. I got so angry after reading her review because it was the complete opposite for me and the guidance to the right Wig put a smile on my face. I haven't smiled in a long time and i was very satisfied with the outcome. Thanks again!

A Truly Positive Experience. I needed a wig because I was losing my hair due to chemotherapy. I looked in the phonebook and found Tiffany Wigs. I called and made an appointment and found out, from Tiffany Wigs, that my insurance would cover the cost of the wig. I am glad to say that they had a huge selection of wigs to chose from.I picked one and was fitted and styled just like my hair. They handled all of the insurance paper work and sent the bill. The wig didn't cost me anything out of pocket. Thank you Tiffany Wigs.

RIP OFF , Buyer Please BEWARE. Owner wrote own reviews. Phyllis insulted our family and 2 other families. One poor girl in "the Chair" in front of everyone, and another family walked in and left at her rudeness. Please do not believe the good reviews they are BOGUS. They can't be true. If you decide to go into this shop, plan on being insulted and ripped off. Even their ads are LIES: NO Such thing here as

"completely covered by insurance" They should be shot with the others who take advantage of people in crises, and I am not a violent person. This place brought out the worst in me. Worst experience I've had in 20 years. My stomach still aches from the verbal abuse!!! No stars, but to publish I had to put one.
